TL;DR
Green-lipped mussel dosage depends on the exact product and its label. Whole-mussel powder, concentrated lipid extracts and mixed supplements do not share an interchangeable dose. To estimate how long a powder lasts, divide the net grams in the container by the daily grams already confirmed for your dog.
Which kind of green-lipped mussel are you measuring?
Start with the ingredient panel. A whole-mussel powder names the mussel material; an extract may concentrate a particular fraction; a blend includes other ingredients. A scoop is a measuring tool, not a universal unit of active ingredient. A scoop from a previous jar may not match the directions on a new product.
Check the final package for the serving unit, current directions and intended animal. If the website and package disagree, or a weight falls on an unclear boundary, ask the seller to clarify before feeding. Do not use a general internet mg/kg calculation to resolve missing product directions.
How long does a jar last?
For a powder measured in grams, the arithmetic is straightforward once the daily amount is established:

The monthly calculation uses the unrounded price per gram. It excludes tax and does not assume subscription or bundle discounts. This is an allocation of product cost, not necessarily the total charged at checkout. Theoretical supply duration also does not override the package's storage instructions, expiry or usable time after opening. Spills and uneaten food can change actual use.
What changes when you feed more than one dog?
Keep each dog's serving instructions separate. For budgeting only, add their confirmed daily gram amounts before dividing the container size. Choose a purchase or subscription interval from actual consumption, not the assumption that every jar lasts a month. Before buying a larger supply, check that your dog accepts the product and that you can use it while it remains suitable under its storage instructions.
Does a study dose tell me how much of this powder to use?
Not by itself. A trial of a particular extract or diet answers a question about that preparation. It does not establish an equivalent amount of an unrelated powder. Our GLM research review explains the difference. Do not increase a serving to reproduce a result from another formulation or to make an effect appear faster.
If your dog takes medication or has a medical condition, discuss the actual product and label with your veterinary team. A supplement is not a substitute for assessing new pain, limping or difficulty moving.
